The Pastor Nominating Committee was formed after Dr. Dave Mayo announced his intention to retire in the Spring of 2024. The Covenant Partners then elected the 7 members of the PNC to begin the process of seeking a new Sr. Pastor to lead Marietta Community Church into the future. The elected members of the PNC represent the MCC's intergenerational church membership with member's in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, & 70's. Below is a brief bio of each of those individuals. We seek the congregations prayers & support as we pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us to the right person to replace our retiring Sr. Pastor.

Mike Sanders
Chair
Mike Sanders became a Christian through the ministry of Cru while a student at the University of Georgia. He has been an active member of Marietta Community Church serving on the original leadership team. Mike and his wife Catherine have three children and have made Marietta home for over 20 years.

Susan Christensen
Susan Christensen has been an active member at Marietta Community Church since its beginning in 2015. She currently serves on the leadership team, is an MCC Kids Sunday School teacher, serves on the greeter team and feeds the youth on Sunday nights before their worship program. She and her husband, Barry, reside in Marietta where they raised their family. They have 2 adult children and one granddaughter

Ned has attended MCC since the beginning. He has been involved with a couple's Small Group, and the Men's Group as well as serving on the Leadership Team as Chair of Administration. In his retirement my passion has been for God, Grandkids, & Golf

Chuck George
Chuck has been with MCC since the start. Served on Leadership, Finance, Property, and currently the Senior Pastor search group. He has a wife, Patricia, three daughters, and seven grandchildren.

Josh Pike
Josh Pike was raised in Marietta and returned when it came to start his family. An active member of Marietta Community Church since its creation, Josh has served in different roles in the church including leading the capital campaigns for the MCC property and building. Josh and his wife Katie live in Marietta with their 3 daughters.

Madeline Ross
Madeline and her husband, Adam, have been attending MCC since August of 2021. They started visiting churches when they moved to Cobb County and were instantly drawn to MCC because of its welcoming and loving atmosphere. Madeline is an Assistant District Attorney at the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office. In her free times she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Kelly Venezia was raised in Marietta and later returned after graduating from the University of Georgia. She has been an active member of Marietta Community Church serving within the music and worship teams and children's ministry. Kelly and her husband Chris have two daughters and call Acworth/Marietta their home.
