Dave and his wife Loretta came to Marietta in 2012 and have been with MCC from the very first worship service in October 2015.  Dave grew up in Virginia Beach and spent much of his youth on the sands of the beach and with his kinfolk in Eastern North Carolina.  He attended Emmanuel College, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, The University of Pittsburgh and Erskine Theological Seminary.   He taught for three years at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary before serving congregations in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Georgia.  Dave and Loretta have led numerous domestic and international mission trips.  The thing that excitements Dave most in ministry is seeing people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Dave and Loretta have two daughters: Becky, who is a Director of Children’s Ministries in Spartanburg, SC and married to John Odum; and Lindsay, who is an attorney in McDonough, Georgia.  In addition to spending time with family and traveling, Dave enjoys reading, golf and college sports.

Austin graduated from Kennesaw Mountain High School in 2008 and then attended Young Harris College. In 2013, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, Austin received his Masters of Divinity from Wake Forest University School of Divinity. Austin is returning to the marietta area with a passion for young people! He has a heart to see Christ in the lives of students as they leave the four walls of the church and walk into their schools, onto the game field, up to the stage, and out in the world. In Austin’s free time, he likes to hang out with friends, play sports (though his talents are limited to racket sports), read books, be creative (via painting or graphic arts), and on the occasional rainy weekend, binge watch the latest show on Netflix.
